With Beatritz Lalanne & Anass HabibBeatritz Lalanne, Concert

Beatritz Lalanne

At the beginning, “Terra Maïre” (:”Mother Earth”) is a unique duo of a cappella singers. Two surprising voices, emanating from the same source – those of Marie-Ange and Beatritz, mother and daughter – with a common heredity and a common repertoire, rooted in the South of France, in the regions of Rouergue (Aveyron), the Basque Country and the Bearn.  It was back in 1996 that Beatritz and Marie-Ange decided to embark on a pilgrimage back to their roots.  Though mother and daughter, they have very separate personalities and artistic backgrounds. This diversity gave them the energy and ability to breathe life back into the secular songs of the land of their ancestors.

These songs – prayers, laments, psalms – “chevrotés” or “sung in a quavering voice” by men and women who have gone before them and most of whom have disappeared, make up a unique heritage, a timeless tradition in danger of extinction.

In the intertwined voices of “Terra-Maïre”  their arises a world of essential emotions, that tread the fine line between the sacred and sorcery. These are wild or medieval and sacred melodies in Occitan, language of troubadours and Cathars.  more

Anass Habib

Anass gave many concerts in Morocco, Syria, Lebanon, Turkey, France, the Netherlands, Poland, South Africa and Tunesia. In Morocco he gave concerts in most of the bigger cities. Just to name a few: Ifran, Meknes, Mirleft, Rabat, Tifelt, Tanger and, of course, Fez, which always remained an important centre of activities for Anass. His voice is considered as one of the most beautiful Arabic voices, with his ability of going from the deep and warm low tones in the bariton range (Anass’ primary range) all the way to the high tenor voice to express emotions and devotion. His repertories go through a lot of countries and civilizations. From the great Lebanese diva Fairouz to the Egyptian Oum Kalthoum, from the Syrian Sabah Fakhri to the Lebanese Marcel Khalife, from soufi poems to maronite (old christian) melodies and medieval sephardic andalusian songs… Anass sings mainly in the many Arabic dialects, in Syriac (aramaic), in old Greek, and in French, Spanish and English. more

Shamanism with Bhola Nath Banstola

Shamanism with Bhola Nath Banstola

The shamanic or modified or ecstatic state in our traditional practice is not by the use of any drugs or hallucinogenic plants. It is instead achieved through focus, drum rhythm and song!

During this experiential course participants will:

  • Focus on listening to: breathing, movement, invocation/song, heartbeat, the vibration of our own bodies and their correspondence with the Mother Earth’s vibration supported by the drum/rattle rhythm
  • Learn the technique to induce ecstasy and shamanic state of trance
  • Learn of the illness and misfortune causing spirits and conjunctions and how to placate/honor them through shamanic methods
  • Create the khadga puja: the healing and cleansing passage of rites by creating personal ground mandala and working on that mandala
  • Experience the shamanic fire ceremony to reconcile with the past to create a vibrant future
  • Learn the practical use of elements in shamanic healing practices
  • Experience the Nepalese shamanic process of cleansing the outer spiritual entanglements; realigning and harmonizing the energy levels and spiritual protection
  • Take journeys of different types and at different levels
  • Hear myths and healing stories
  • Receive initiation and empowerment into the path (initiation is the beginning of the path or walk, not the end)

Note: Please bring your own mats, cushions, pillows if you need, covers or blankets, bandana for closing the eyes, comfortable dresses of your choice, note book and pen, some flowers or leafs from your own garden or from the wilderness, some fruits, small candles, some rice grains, a glass to drink water or to prepare the healing water, your personal sacred objects, drum/rattle, a dry leaf of a plant (small unbroken would be alright).

HAKA is an ancient power dance practiced by Maori people from New Zealand. It is known to be vigorously expressed with strong vocal and dynamic body gestures.
